Ubuntu House was opened in September 2003 and the first baby was taken in within the same month. Since then we have already cared for 693 babies and placed 540 with adopted parents, 127 reunited with their birth parents / family, 14 babies were moved to other safe houses and / or placed in foster care and currently we have a full house of 12 babies in our professional care. Our aim is to have these babies adopted before the age of six months but sometimes for various reasons they stay for longer periodes.
Volunteers of 18 years and older, are always welcome at the Ubuntu House & we give free courses in caring for babies, medical care, baby massaging, HIV, etc.
